  • St. George Fort - St. George Fort is located on the banks of Bay of Bengal and achieved its name from Saint George, the patron saint of England. The fort also houses Saint Mary's Church and fort museum. This Fort was built by the British East India Company in 1640 AD. The fort museum also has a collection of memorabilia from the British and French East India companies.
  • Senate House - Senate House of Chennai is definitely a worth watching impressive architectural monument. Located at the University of Madras campus, the Senate House has a central hall on the ground floor, 130 feet long, 58 feet broad and 54 feet high, with the corridors supported by six massive stone pillars on either side.
  • Government Museum - The Chennai Government Museum is one of the oldest museums of India, as its inception dates back to the Colonial rule. There is a historical tale behind the origin of this Museum.
  • Thousand Lights Mosque - Thousand Lights Mosque is a well-known worship place for the Muslims in the Chennai. Situated at the Anna Salai Road, it was built in mid-1800 in the land donated by Nawab Wallajah. Called the Thousand Lights Mosque because of the legend that over one thousand lamps had to be used to light up the Assembly Hall that stood at this same spot.
  • Freemasons Hall - Built in1923, Freemasons Hall is situated in the Egmore area of Chennai. The building is engineered on Greek pattern with Italian tiles. It is the memorabilia of the cultural and traditional heritage of ancient inhabitants of the city.
  • Kamaraj Memorial House - Built in the memory of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri MG Ramachandran Kamaraj. He was an ideal for all the Indians, as he rose out of poverty and became the Chief Minster thrice. Kamraj Memorial House was inaugurated in 1978 and is open daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
  • Valluvar Kottam - Valluvar Kottam is built in memory of the great Tamil Poet Saint Thiruvalluvar. The Kottam is in the shape of a temple chariot and contains a lively statue of the Thiruvalluvar.
  • Covelong Beach – Covelong Beach is one of the finest beaches and is now turned into a beautiful resort by Taj Groups of Hotels and known as Fisherman's Cove Resort. The beach is located on the way to Mahabalipuram amidst picturesque locals and serves as the perfect retreat.
  • Elliot's Beach - The locals call it 'Bessei' and it is one of the cleanest beaches in Chennai. Located towards the south of Marina Beach, this beach is the favorite destination among the youth who gather here in the evening which is why it is also called night beach.
